GEO-Black pipe is intended and recommended for use as the buried heat exchanger and transfer piping in open or closed loop ground source heat pump applications.
Design temperature rating for GEO-Black pipe is 73.5 ◦F.; however, intermittent exposure to temperatures up to 120◦F is acceptable. GEO-Black is connected by heat fusion or by butt fusion with the appropriate fittings and equipment.
GEO-Black polyethylene piping products are for use in ground source heat exchanger applications. All GEO-Black IPS-OD, SDR-11 and Schedule 40 dimension piping products meet the respective requirements of ASTM D 3035 and ASTM D 2
CANPEX™ PIPE

C-B Supplies Ltd. carries CANPEX™ PIPE, manufactured by Vanguard Pipe & Fittings Ltd.
CANPEX™ tubing has many features and benefits.
CANPEX™ (cross-linked polyethylene) tubing is flexible, durable and proven through more than 20 years of use throughout Europe. CANPEX™ PEX is recommended for use in hot and cold water distribution and hydronic heating systems.
CANPEX™ , white, red, or blue in color, is available in 1/4" through 1" sizes in coils as well as 20 ft. straight lengths and incrementally marked on coils of 500 ft. or greater. Red and blue CANPEX™ PEX tubing offers the benefit of color coding for easy identification of hot and cold lines.
CANPEX™ is available in a MANAPAC tubing package which contains 2 - 500 ft. coils of 3/8" Canpex tubing on disposable reels to facilitate installation of MANABLOC distribution systems.
CANPEX™ is CTS-OD sized (copper tube size, outside diameter controlled) with an SDR-9 (Standard Dimension Ratio) wall thickness which yields maximum pressure/temperature ratings of 100 psi @ 180° F and 160 psi @ 73° F. Canpex is manufactured and third party certified to ASTM F876 and F877.
Cross-linking is a permanent chemical change that occurs in CANPEX™ , giving it THREE distinct advantages over other piping material
1) CANPEX™ is flexible and can be installed with fewer directional fittings in less time, and at less expense, than rigid plumbing systems.
2) CANPEX™ can stretch to accommodate the expansion of freezing water and then return to its original size when water thaws. Although Canpex is highly freeze-break resistant, no material is freeze-break proof.
3) CANPEX™ offers superior chemical and environmental stress crack resistance.
CANPEX™ tubing connected with the PAL (a polymer made of Engineered plastic resin) Insert Fittings fitting system is one of the fastest joining systems in Canada & the U.S.
For applications not listed, consult a C-B Supplies Ltd. representative. CANPEX™ tubing is a superior alternative to copper for plumbing systems.
CANPEX™ ULTRA

C-B Supplies Ltd. distributes CANPEX™ ULTRA piping mufactured by Vanguard Pipe & Fittings Ltd., used for potable water applications.
CANPEX™ ULTRA provides the many benefits of CANPEX™ with the added features of proven UV protection.
There have been several unsuccessful attempts by PEX competitors to produce a certified UV-resistant PEX product. Vanguard Pipe & Fittings Ltd. brings UV-protected PEX to the market - a PEX product which has proven, documented performance in chlorinated, potable water systems after extended UV exposure.
CANPEX™ ULTRA’s unique multi-layer design provides the durability and performance characteristics that ensure longer more dependable service life.
CANPEX™ ULTRA has proven to be superior in performance in even the most stringent chlorine-resistance testing standards performed on PEX tubing.
CANPEX™ ULTRA is UV Resistant
Virtually all of the manufacturers who have touted “UV resistance” in their PEX products have been unable to obtain the prestigious, voluntary NSF International P-171 chlorine resistance recirculation rating. This alone makes their products inferior to CANPEX ™ and CANPEX™ ULTRA . In fact, most manufacturers have met only the minimum chlorine resistance requirement newly incorporated into ASTM F 876.
CANPEX™ ULTRA combines added UV protection with all of the same features installers look for in a PEX tubing product including:
• Faster, easier and more economical installation
• Flexibility to reduce the number of fittings required in the system
• Ability to use traditional tools and fittings used in standard PEX installations
• Corrosion and freeze damage resistance
• Resistance to scaling and pitting
• Safe, chemical-free installation
• Proven and reliable Brass Insert Fittings system
Vanguard Pipe & Fittings Ltd., offers some recommendations for use of CANPEX™ ULTRA
The manufacturer of CANPEX™ ULTRA, Vanguard Pipe & Fittings Ltd. recommends that outside exposure not exceed 60 days. However, based on testing at independent laboratories, even after 6 months of exposure, the product retains its chlorine resistance properties in hot water recirculating systems.
Used in residential plumbing and radiant systems for more than 25 years, PEX has a proven performance record and is growing in popularity within the North American plumbing and radiant heating markets. Vanguard Pipe & Fittings Ltd. tests its products extemsively at extreme pressures, temperatures and water quality conditions to prove that the claimsit makes about the performance of its pipes are accurate.
Highest Quality Products
CANPEX™ ULTRA and CANPEX™ are made using the Silane method of cross-linking. This method produces tubing that is the most consistent in size, dimension and degree of cross-linking, which, when combined with premium raw materials, helps produce the highest quality products possible.
CANPEX™ OXY

CANPEX™ OXY tubing is ideally suited for HRH applications. Its light weight and flexibility make installation of hydronic heat exchanger loops fast and easy.
For in-slab systems, CANPEX™ OXY tubing is simply attached directly to the reinforcement mesh. For under-floor (staple-up) and above-floor (suspended floor with or without poured topping) the tubing is attached to the flooring with tubing clamps or heat transfer plates.
CANPEX™ OXY tubing is manufactured to nationally recognized industry standards (ASTM F876 and F877). CANPEX™ OXY tubing is available in both standard, non-barrier and premium oxygen barrier* versions. Both tubing types are approved for conveyance of potable water in the event that the hydronic heating system will be connected to the drinking water system.
CANPEX™ OXY is available in 3/8" through 1" sizes. Common tubing sizes are 1/2" for residential applications and 3/4" for commercial and snow-melt systems. Supply/return transfer lines use the 3/4" and 1" sizes.
* Oxygen barrier tubing is used for those hydronic applications where the total amount of oxygen ingress into the system must be limited. Barrier tubing may be required by water heating unit manufacturer. For a more detailed discussion of oxygen barrier tubing see the Vanguard Pipe & Fittings Ltd. Hydronic Radiant Heating System Installation Instructions.
